I heard about this site on The Colbert Report.

It's affiliated with Craig's List.

Basically, you can post your needs for students, in hopes of a donation.

Say you need 25 copies of "Amelia Bedelia" for your class, you post it on DonorsChoose.
Visiters to DonorsChoose can decide if and what donation they would like to make.

I know we have some teachers and school staff on Team Sugar that might benefit from this site.

Also, if you want to donate to a cause close to home, something on here might be just the thing.
