Extra! Extra! Read All About It!
I never wished I lived in Pittsburgh more then I do right now.
They are offering the chance to be an extra in the new Kevin Smith movie, Zach and Miri Make A Porno, starring Seth Rogan and Elizabeth Banks!
A great opportunity for a fan!
From silentbobspeaks.com:
If you wanna be an extra in “Zack and Miri Make a Porno”, here’s how to do it…
1) Take two pictures of yourself: headshot and full body shot (clad, please).
2) List your personal details: age, contact info.
3) Mail that motherfucker to…
I Wanna Be in “Porno”!
Nancy Mosser Casting
attn: Katie Shenot
239 Fourth Ave
Suite 1217
Pittsburgh PA 15222
4) Wait for response.
Helps if you live near Pittsburgh, but if you’re willing to travel from other parts of the country, then you’ll definitely be considered (however, you’ve gotta spring for your own travel/hotel stay, naturally). And in case you’re thinking “I’m gonna get RICH off this mug!” lemme reality check you: the gig pays minimum wage (which breaks down to about $57.20 for 8 hours). But if you don’t care about the money and just want an experience you can tell people about for years, then send us your deets now!
Hope to see you on set.

'tis the season to be kinky falalalalah
Hahahaha! Neat! I love Kevin Smith.
They filmed The Hawk Is Dying (with Paul Giamatti, who I love) in my neighborhood in Florida. (I still need to rent the film, though I doubt I'll find it here.) I kept telling my dad that I was going to rollerskate down the block and ask to be an extra - like "Girl On Rollerskates #2" or something like that. I never did, 'cause I'm a recluse, but I did walk my dog through all their trailers and crap about twice a day for a few weeks. I couldn't believe how much shit they needed all over the road to film in a crappy old house and some woods.
Fosho Shi!
I would love to bask in Kevin Smiths huge shadow!

One of my brother's is a paramedic, and he got to be on site, for the bridge stunt they filmed for Bless The Child. It was filmed on the Bluewater Bridge in Sarnia. He couldn't believe the excesses they had! He said he was glad it only lasted a short time, because he would have put on alot of weight! lol They were always being fed, getting lattes and donuts and stuff.

I've worked on lots of student films, and even they were catered. Who eats pasta salad at 5:00 in the morning?
I didn't see any food, or else I'd have snagged a donut or two - casually, you know, like I belonged there, and then maybe no one would notice.
Linz, they have that movie on Netflix. It was just released in the states a few months ago even though it's been out overseas for a long time.
Good movie. Strange, but Giamatti's performance is AMAZING.
Oh, and they filmed "In Her Shoes" in my neighborhood in Philly a few years ago. I couldn't park on my block for a MONTH because Cammie's trailer (and the others) took up all the parking spaces.
But I did watch Toni Collette film a scene in front of my doctor's office. That was pretty cool
I don't have Netflix, 'cause I live in the Stone Age, but maybe this is the push I need to get it. We rent like crazy anyway. I will check it out - I really think Giamatti is underrated.
It is cool, I would totally be into it. And whenever I see a place I know in a movie, I'm all like, I've been there!
I love Paul Giamatti too. He's always a pleasure to watch.

They filmed The Patriot on my college campus & around town & Cold Mountain was filmed downtown too. My friend Geoff worked on Cold Mountain. He was a set dresser, which means that he was stategically aranging leaves on the tress. Die Hard 3 was filmed on a bridge around here too. They just replaced the bridge & blew up the old one. That was the COOLEST!!
The dam that's in The Fugitive is about half a mile from our big motorcycle meeting spot. A friend took an awesome picture of it - I was thinking about it the other day when we crossed the bridge ("Fugitive Bridge") on our snow trip.
PS - I am super jealous that you got to watch a bridge being blown up.
Well, they blew it up to build a new one. It was on Leno randomly one night. I'll see if I can find it...
Maybe I'll apply to be an extra... I'm only about 4 hours from P'burgh.
OMG! Thats so cool! Cold Mountain, that means Jude was there! :swoon:
Oh Whip you should! I'll be so jealous, but you could make an awesome blog! lol
~ Happy Holidays! ~
yeah, they had to shut down production for a bit b/c his youngest was born & he had to go back to the UK...
Shhhhhhh sas...he has no children in my fantasies!

I love how he specifies "clad"

I am sure no one has seen this movie Zebraheads, but it was filmed in Detroit and I was an extra. My friend and I went to see it in the movies and cheered when we caught a glimpse of me...and then we left...
Seriously, I don't think I have ever seen it all the way through. Oliver Stone was somehow associated with it and I think it was Michael Rappaport's first film. I have tried to watch it numerous times, but something always comes up
Whip, you should apply!
My bil was an extra in the movie Something Wild. It was the high school reunion scene. Trust me, Jinx is right...it is something you can talk about for years (and I'm not saying that sarcastically).
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091983/ That's the link to jog your memory. I had to look it up to make sure I got the
title to the movie correct.
Hvnly, That's cool! I'm cracking up at "..and then we left.."
That strikes me so funny.
