In honour of Shia LaBeouf's birthday today.

The Greatest Game Ever Played (2005)

Shia LaBeuof stars in the fact based story of 20 year old Francis Ouimet, an amatuer golfer, who makes the cut, and competes in the 1913 US Open Golf Championship.

Josh Flitter plays his ally and caddy, Eddie Lowery, and he brings his 110 % to the movie.

Stephan Dillane stars as Harry Vardon, the 1900 US Open champion, who is both Francis’ idol and adversary in the story.

Although you may be thinking, a Disney film about a game of golf, isn't your thing.
Given the chance, this little movie might lure you in and win you over.

The turn of the century costumes and props are wonderful, the scenery is amazing, and the cinematography is unique and playful.

The casting is well done, and everyone is excellent in their roles.

But Shia LaBeouf and Josh Flitter are simply a joy to watch together.
Both of them are convincing and fun in their parts.
They are a prime example of how two young actors can carry a movie, while the adults simply support them.

It’s a good movie for anyone and everyone. There’s nothing offensive in it for children, and adults can enjoy the ride as well.

I think Shia LaBeouf is the next Tom Hanks.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHIA!
