You are travelling in your vehicle, in city traffic. You proceed through a traffic light, with vehicles in front of you, behind you and beside you.
Suddenly a dog runs out into the street, you can't get stopped. You hear the dog yelp, you assume it was struck, not sure it was you, but there's a good chance it was.
What do you do?

I'd go back to see how the dog is and report it.
I wonder if its considered a hit and run?!
Guilt wouldn't let me sleep if I didn't check on the dog and take him to a vet. And suck up the bills.

Of course I stop to make sure the dog is fine or at least I would call the cops or 911

I'd definitely stop. I stop when I see roadkill on my street to make sure it's dead and doesn't need help, I'm sure I'd stop for something I likely hit. I've even got Jackson checking whenever a skunk or a cat gets hit near the house. My sister saved a cat once by doing that, so now I figure it doesn't hurt to stop.
I will stop traffic for a turtle in the road...
I would definitely stop and check on the dog. I wouldn't automatically resume responsibility of the vet fees, it doesn't sound like the driver did anything wrong.
Definitely stop and check on the dog at the very least. Probably pay the bills out of guilt.

I would definitely stop and do absolutely anything i could to make things right. There's no way i could live with myself if i didn't.
well, considering I accidentally hit a bird while driving down a road and stopped, cried, got the bird out of the road and covered it with leaves......I'd definitely stop and get out, look at my car to see if I had in fact hit the dog and if every one else just drove on then I would take care of the dog anyway~probably bring it home.
"STOP, at least go back and see how the dog is."
I'd stop and help the poor animal... and then proceed to yell at the stupid owner.
lol @ Tiffa, wish we'd thought of that.
I would stop and help. Take it to the vet and pay the bills if no one came forward to claim it. Then find it a better owner.
